It's pretty obvious that we are really into sustainability; however, we also believe that sustainability has to be sustainable for both people and companies. We believe that together through our daily actions, we can create a more sustainable future for people and the planet. As such, we try to focus on progress versus perfection.  We are proud of what we've done yet know we have so much more to do.

More than ever our every day choices effect the world we live in, so we though we would share some of the achievable daily choices we can all be mindful of that make a difference.

We tend to forget that every product we purchase has an environmental footprint, from the materials used to create it to the pollution emitted during manufacturing to the packaging that ends up in landfills. This is why we go to such lengths to make sure we do things right.

From what we eat to long haul flights, there’s a lot everyone can do on a daily basis to reduce our environmental footprint and help fight the climate battle.

Plastic Not Fantastic.

The war against plastic is a a well documented one but it’s real one, especially when most plastics never go away. Shockingly plastic now covers unto 40% of the world’s ocean surfaces! Every year thousands of birds, turtles, seals, sharks, whales and other marine mammals are killed after ingesting plastic or getting tangled up in it. The good news is it is so easy to start cutting down on your plastic waste in a few simple steps. Use reusable bags when you shop, ditch single-use water bottles, bags, and straws and avoid products made from or packaged in plastic whenever possible. The cumulative effect of everyone doing this would be huge.

The extraction of water and production of plastic bottled water is notoriously harmful to communities and wildlife. Water conservation is also critical, especially as our growing populations and farming demands across the world puts increased demand on the water sources and we face unprecedented droughts.

Big Buys.

Kicking the fossil fuel habit is critical to saving wildlife, slowing climate change and protecting our lands and waters. The bigger the purchase the bigger the benefit can be. The more efficient your car, house and life the more long term benefits not just for your pocket but for the environment.

Modern cars are more fuel efficient and not everyone can run out and trade in their old gas guzzler for the latest hybrid or electric but if its time for something new, a fuel-efficient model will save money and reduce your carbon footprint over the years. The same applies for your household appliances. Just as keeping your car in good shape improves fuel efficiency, keeping your home in shape improves your energy efficiency.

 Shopping Clever.

As a consumer the options available can be overwhelming. But how much do you know about the brands you buy? Thankfully now there are verified and certified production and manufacturing that helps.

From your food shopping to clothing there are some clear leaders and pioneers when it comes to reducing your impact on the planet. One unavoidable drain on the world resources is meat production. It is one of the most environmentally destructive industries on the planet, responsible for massive amounts of water use, pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and habitat destruction.

Whilst many people will not give up on the meat products. The planet will only be saved by people understanding the impacts of our decisions and being mindful of our actions.

Reports that in Western society unto 40% of edible food goes to waste means that all of the natural resources that went into producing it are also wasted.

So what meant products are consumed and how often becomes really important in the fight to improve the health of the planet. The truth is, by reducing your meat consumption you can reduce your environmental footprint.

Your Voice.

It starts with a conversation. One of the best things we can all do for the planet, today and for the future, is to better educate ourselves and others. The more we talk about how we can protect the rainforest, endangered species, the overconsumption of plastics, meat products and fossil fuels the better choices we can make, and the bigger impact we can have. If we place ourselves into the minds and emotions of others and learn from their perspective we can have a positive impact.
